Match play 2026

• Format is Stableford Matchplay

• The player who scores the most points on the hole wins the hole

• If both players score the same amount of points on a hole or both blank the hole, the hole is halved

• The player to win the most holes in the round wins the match and proceeds to the next round next round

• In Round 1 to Semi Final, if the ‘holes won’ is tied at the end of the 18 holes then the player who has the best stableford score on the back 9 (on the scorecard) proceeds to the next round. If both players have the same score on the back 9 then it does on best score on 18 th then 17 th then 16 th etc until we have a winner

• In the Final, if the ‘holes won’ is tied at the end of the 18 holes, then there will be a playoff hole until a winner is decided (handicaps of players involved and index of hole played will also come into play)

• If Player 1 plays an outing but Player 2 does not play an outing before the match is due then Player 1 will automatically proceed to the next round

• If Player 1 and Player 2 both have played an outing before their match is due but not on the same outing then the match will be decided by a coin toss

• If both Player 1 and Player 2 don’t play an outing before their match is due, the match will be decided by a coin toss

• If players who are matched against each other, cannot make an outing before the due date of their match, players can organise to play their match outside of official FLGS outings as long as both players agree and notify a FLGS committee member prior to match taken place. The scorecard must be sent through from the match to declare the result immediately after.

• Entry is £5 and capped at 32 entries

Rounds - To be played on or before

Round 1 - Sunday 22th March Outing

Quarter Finals - Sunday 17th May Outing

Semi Finals - Sunday June 14th Outing

Final to be played at Moyola Park on Sunday 19th July
